Day 4: The Power of Feedback and Crafting Roadmaps
Share
Feedback is magic. It shows you what’s working, what isn’t, and what you’ve completely missed. On Day 4, it’s starting to come in. I’ve learned to appreciate feedback in all its forms—whether it’s direct comments, subtle cues, data, or even silence.
At Expedia, working alongside Product Managers taught me the art of crafting a roadmap: have a vision, prioritize based on feedback, and let that guide what gets built first. Right now, my priorities are refining navigation and planning for future products—while working on new designs. But the structure? That’s where I’m feeling the struggle.
I had planned to launch isloved.shop on October 1st. But on September 29, Shopify froze my account, marking it “under review.” I suspect it’s because I copied some new code into the template, trying to speed things up. After a frustrating dance with customer service—no explanation, no resolution—I decided to scrap the original site (isloved.co) and buy a new URL: isloved.shop. Starting fresh.
It’s these unexpected hurdles that make the journey interesting, though not always fun. Now, I’m working within the constraints of the existing Shopify theme, adjusting only what I can. I’d be much further along if I could design everything in Figma and have it magically work—but that’s lower on my priority list for now. I’m still exploring the Figma plugin for Shopify themes, hoping it’ll streamline things in the future.
Building something with love means embracing the challenges and knowing that each step forward is part of the process. Thoughts? Would love to hear your feedback as I shape what’s next.
