Day 30: Six Weeks In – A Wild Ride
Share
Six weeks into this adventure, and let me tell you—it’s a mix of dopamine hits, AI fails, and a whole lot of cats. Let’s break it down.
Dopamine Days
I stumbled across an Andrew Huberman podcast that got me thinking about how dopamine kicks in after we tackle tough tasks. And honestly? It tracks. That post-task satisfaction is what’s keeping me motivated. Whether it’s fixing something that’s broken (looking at you, Google Ads) or just surviving the chaos, I’m starting to crave those little “you did it” moments.
AI Woes & Photoshoot Dreams
I’ve been experimenting with AI to create lifestyle shots for the shop, but it’s been... let’s just call it a learning curve. The results so far look more sci-fi than shop-ready. So, I pivoted to Placeit to mock up product images. It’s fine, but I’m not thrilled with the model options—it feels like trying to find a sweater in the wrong size rack.
That said, I’ve come to terms with the fact that nothing beats the real thing. Samples need to arrive, photoshoots need to happen, but none of this will get done before Cyber Weekend. And that’s okay (I think).
A Gift for Everyone
We’ve got gift cards now! That’s a win I can confidently share. They’re the ultimate “I didn’t know what to get you, but I want you to feel special” move. It’s one less thing to stress about, for me and for anyone shopping.
Google Ads Drama
Oh, Google Ads. It’s like they know I need them to work but want to test my patience. The account’s paused again, and I have no idea why. It’s one of those soul-draining tasks I know will feel amazing to conquer... eventually.
Cats, Cats, Cats
Meanwhile, I’ve been working on... cats. So many cats. They’ve become my stress-relief mascots—distracting, adorable, and just the right amount of chaos to keep me grounded. (I might be turning into a full-fledged cat person, and I’m not even mad about it.)
Six weeks in, and this rollercoaster shows no signs of slowing down. It’s a mix of small wins, big puzzles, and the occasional fluffy distraction, but we’re moving forward. For now, I’ll take the dopamine where I can get it—be it from fixing problems, smashing tasks, or just taking a moment to admire a good cat meme.
Here’s to the next six weeks!
