Day 84: Climbing Out of the Trough of Sorrow

Well, well, well. Look who’s back. (It’s me.) After an extended break, I’m dusting off this project and giving it the love it deserves. Sometimes life happens—other things take priority, distractions creep in, and before you know it, what was once a fiery passion is now simmering quietly on the back burner.
Enter: The Trough of Sorrow.
Sounds dramatic, right? Well, it kind of is. The Trough of Sorrow is this delightfully bleak term coined by Y Combinator to describe a startup’s emotional rollercoaster. In the beginning, you’re riding high on excitement, big dreams, and the thrill of creation. You’re unstoppable! Invincible! And then… reality checks in. Growth isn’t as fast as you hoped, the initial buzz fades, and you find yourself questioning everything.
Am I cut out for this? Is this even working? Should I just binge-watch my favorite show instead? (Spoiler: I did.)
The good news? The Trough of Sorrow isn’t permanent. It’s more like a rite of passage, a murky swamp every entrepreneur wades through before reaching clarity. And guess what? I’m climbing out. Slowly but surely. One foot in front of the other.
Rebooting isn’t easy, but it’s necessary. The key is to stop overthinking and start doing. So here I am, back in the game, ready to pour my heart into this project again.
If you’re in your own Trough of Sorrow, hang in there. It gets better. And if you need a pep talk (or just someone to commiserate with over coffee and cookies), I’m here.
Onward and upward! 🚀
