Bullmastiff

Meet the Bullmastiff
Nineteenth-century British gamekeepers engineered this dog to a specification, blending the Mastiff’s bulk with the Bulldog’s fire, and for decades it existed mainly as working equipment on country estates. As the poaching wars faded, its steadiness earned it a second career as guardian and companion. England’s Kennel Club recognized the Bullmastiff in 1924; the AKC followed in 1934.
