Irish Setter
To a kid, the Setter was the one grown-up in the house who never once said later. Let them wear their yes-dog: brushed-soft midweight fleece, a double-lined hood for real warmth, and a roomy kangaroo pocket for the plans the two of them are always making.
Materials
A medium-weight 8.0 oz 50/50 cotton-poly blend — ultra-soft, preshrunk fleece that’s cozy against the skin. A spacious kangaroo pocket keeps hands warm, and a twill-taped neck holds its shape. Regular fit, runs true to size; sizes S–XL.
Care
- Machine wash: warm (max 40C or 105F)
- Bleach as needed
- Tumble dry: medium heat
- Do not iron
- Do not dry clean

Meet the Irish Setter
Irish gentry bred setters to find gamebirds and freeze — “setting” them for the net, and later the gun — in red-and-white coats, until nineteenth-century fashion favored the solid red that made the breed famous. America fell first and hardest: Elcho, imported in 1870, became the first Irish Setter champion in the United States six years later and sired 197 puppies, founding the American line nearly single-handedly.
