Before the baby came home, a small inspector toured the nursery and found it acceptable. With the Shorkie's approval on record, the uniform: supremely soft combed ring-spun cotton, a lap-shoulder neckline that slips over gently, and a three-snap bottom for quick changes.
Materials
Lightweight 5.0 oz combed, ring-spun cotton in a 1x1 rib knit that springs back to shape. Lap shoulders and a smooth three-snap closure make dressing easy, with double-needle bindings throughout. Solid colors are 100% cotton; newborn to 24 months.
Care
- Machine wash: cold (max 30C or 90F)
- Non-chlorine: bleach as needed
- Tumble dry: low heat
- Do not iron
- Do not dry clean

Meet the Shorkie
Like most modern crosses, the Shorkie has no founding kennel, no studbook, and no agreed birthday — the mix rose with the small-dog crossbreeding boom of recent decades, mostly in North America. The real pedigree is the parents’: centuries of companion work on both sides of the family. No major registry recognizes the cross, and honest breeders don’t pretend otherwise — what they offer instead is health-tested parents, which counts for far more.
