Day 22: Navigating Sidetracks & New Additions

Day 22: Navigating Sidetracks & New Additions

Yesterday, I took a little detour. While I was supposed to be adding new products, I realized something: the mobile navigation just wasn’t as intuitive as it should be. With around 75% of you browsing from mobile, it was time to dive in and make it smoother. So, I reorganized the Icons Collection, adding a sub-navigation based on dog size—toy, small, medium, large, and giant—plus a spot for mixes. My goal? To make finding the perfect match for your pup easy and seamless.

Eventually, I’d love to create a dedicated landing page for each size so everything can shine in one spot. But for now, I’m keeping it lean within Shopify’s framework. There are plenty of apps that promise endless customizations, but I’m holding off on anything that could slow down the site. For now, I’m sticking with simple solutions and saving bigger customizations for when I can code them myself.

As Guy Kawasaki says in The Art of the Start, “Don’t worry, be crappy”—your first version is just the starting point. So here we are, starting where we are, and building a little better every day. Thanks for following along on this journey—tweaks, sidetracks, and all!

Today, I’m back on track adding new products, with plans for future collections that’ll make your pup’s style game even stronger. It’s all coming together, one paw-print at a time! 🐾
