Alaskan Klee Kai

$35

An Alaskan Klee Kai reads the mood of a house and files a report. For its favorite subject: substantial 6.0-ounce cotton, garment-dyed after sewing so the color settles into the weave, each shirt a little different, with a wide rib collar and a fade that deepens with washing.

The Field Guide

Meet the Alaskan Klee Kai

One of the youngest breeds in this guide: developed from the 1970s by Linda Spurlin of Wasilla, Alaska, who crossed Alaskan and Siberian Huskies with smaller Nordic dogs — Schipperke, American Eskimo Dog — to shrink the husky without wrecking its soundness. The UKC recognized the breed in 1997; the AKC recorded it in its Foundation Stock Service in 2020.
