The Berner reviewed the nursery like a farm to be minded, then lay down across the doorway. Approved: supremely soft combed ring-spun cotton, a lap-shoulder neckline that slips over gently, rib knit binding, and a three-snap bottom for quick changes at any hour of the night.
Materials
Lightweight 5.0 oz combed, ring-spun cotton in a 1x1 rib knit that springs back to shape. Lap shoulders and a smooth three-snap closure make dressing easy, with double-needle bindings throughout. Solid colors are 100% cotton; newborn to 24 months.
Care
- Machine wash: cold (max 30C or 90F)
- Non-chlorine: bleach as needed
- Tumble dry: low heat
- Do not iron
- Do not dry clean

Meet the Bernese Mountain Dog
Mastiff-type dogs came over the Alps with Roman soldiers two thousand years ago and stayed to become Switzerland’s farm generalists. By the 1890s the old type was fading, and a breeder named Franz Schertenleib began scouring the countryside for good examples; a breed club followed in 1907. The first Berners reached America in 1926, imported by a Kansas farmer, and the AKC recognized the breed in 1937.
