A kid who has earned a Shar-Pei's affection has learned something about patience worth keeping. The reward: brushed-soft midweight fleece, a double-lined hood for real warmth, a roomy kangaroo pocket, and the badge in its ring of red rays. Resists pilling; true to size.
Materials
A medium-weight 8.0 oz 50/50 cotton-poly blend — ultra-soft, preshrunk fleece that’s cozy against the skin. A spacious kangaroo pocket keeps hands warm, and a twill-taped neck holds its shape. Regular fit, runs true to size; sizes S–XL.
Care
- Machine wash: warm (max 40C or 105F)
- Bleach as needed
- Tumble dry: medium heat
- Do not iron
- Do not dry clean

Meet the Chinese Shar-Pei
Effigies of similar guard dogs survive from southern China’s Han dynasty, two thousand years ago, and for centuries the Shar-Pei worked village farms as guardian, hunter, and occasional fighting dog. The twentieth century nearly ended the story on the mainland, until breeders in Hong Kong raised the alarm and the West answered. The AKC recognized the breed in 1992 — a formality, by then, for a dog already saved.
