At three a.m., the Samoyed pads down the hall with you — its ancestors kept whole families warm at night, and old habits hold. For the smallest shift: long sleeves against the draft, supremely soft combed cotton, ribbed binding that stretches and lasts, and snaps that keep it brief.
Materials
Lightweight 5.0 oz combed, ring-spun cotton — smooth against a baby’s skin — with rib-knit bindings for durability and stretch, and plastic snaps at the cross closure for easy changing. Solid colors are 100% cotton; sizes newborn to 18 months.
Care
- Machine wash: cold (max 30C or 90F)
- Non-chlorine: bleach as needed
- Tumble dry: low heat

Meet the Samoyed
Polar exploration made the breed’s reputation: Fridtjof Nansen provisioned his 1890s Farthest North expedition with dogs bought straight from the herding camps, and Carsten Borchgrevink’s teams went south in 1898 as the first dogs ever to work in Antarctica. English fanciers built the modern breed from expedition veterans and imports, and royalty took notice. The AKC registered its first Samoyed, a dog named Moustan, in 1906.
