Standard Schnauzer
To a kid, the Schnauzer was always on duty — sentry, co-conspirator, the beard that heard every secret. Let them wear the family's supervisor: brushed-soft midweight fleece, a double-lined hood for real warmth, and a roomy kangaroo pocket the dog would certainly want audited.
Materials
A medium-weight 8.0 oz 50/50 cotton-poly blend — ultra-soft, preshrunk fleece that’s cozy against the skin. A spacious kangaroo pocket keeps hands warm, and a twill-taped neck holds its shape. Regular fit, runs true to size; sizes S–XL.
Care
- Machine wash: warm (max 40C or 105F)
- Bleach as needed
- Tumble dry: medium heat
- Do not iron
- Do not dry clean

Meet the Standard Schnauzer
Nineteenth-century German breeders refined the old farm type — crossing in gray Wolfspitz and black German Poodle for the signature pepper-and-salt coat — and the dogs reached America around 1900. The AKC recognized the Standard in 1904. In the First World War the breed carried dispatches for the Red Cross; in the peace that followed, the Miniature and the Giant it inspired arrived — and left the first schnauzer the rarest of the three.
