Xoloitzcuintle
Known as the “Mexican Hairless Dog,” the Xolo is both ancient and unique. With their hairless or coated varieties, they’re calm, loyal, and highly alert. Xolos are fantastic family dogs for those looking for a low-maintenance, devoted friend with a dash of history and charm.
Materials
Lightweight 5.0 oz combed, ring-spun cotton — smooth against a baby’s skin — with rib-knit bindings for durability and stretch, and plastic snaps at the cross closure for easy changing. Solid colors are 100% cotton; sizes newborn to 18 months.
Care
- Machine wash: cold (max 30C or 90F)
- Non-chlorine: bleach as needed
- Tumble dry: low heat

Meet the Xoloitzcuintle
Ceramic dogs unmistakably like the Xolo appear in ancient West Mexican tombs, and the breed padded through three thousand years of Mexican life largely unchanged. The paperwork was less steady: the AKC registered its first Xolo — a dog named Mee Too — in 1887, dropped the breed as extinct in 1959, and recognized it again in 2011. Mexico City declared the Xolo a cultural heritage symbol in 2016.
