Day 18: “Win it on Wednesday” Reflections

Today, we crowned our latest “Win it on Wednesday” winner! Somewhere out there, in the charming state of Connecticut, someone is about to open a package with a soft, cozy, very loved Isloved t-shirt inside. It’s funny, really—these giveaways might seem like a small thing, but when I send off one of our tees, I picture it finding a new life in someone’s day. Like, what if they put it on for a movie marathon, or wear it to finally tackle that DIY project they’ve been avoiding? Who knows, maybe it’ll even be their “lucky shirt” from here on out. (No pressure, Connecticut. But... I have high hopes.)

I’ll admit, though, this week’s contest didn’t exactly set the social media world on fire. Fewer comments, a few likes, and the faintest ripple of enthusiasm. (Maybe everyone’s busy preparing for winter hibernation?) Part of me wonders if the post needed a little something extra—a pinch of sparkle, a dash of “oomph.” Or maybe, sometimes, people just want to sit back and observe quietly. Hey, I get it; I have entire conversations with my tea cup before I’m ready to dive into the world.

But here’s the thing I keep coming back to: this “Win it on Wednesday” ritual, it’s about something bigger than just…well, winning. It’s about inviting people into this funny, loving little corner of the internet where there’s no pressure to be perfect, just appreciated. And even if only a handful of people participated, that’s still a handful of connections—real ones, in my mind.
