Day 19: Creating a new Collection

Today was all about Mystics—the new collection I’ve been dying to dive into. It’s a series of designs inspired by the mysterious beauty of cats: their coats, their breeds, their calm-yet-chaotic charm. Cats are natural enigmas, aren’t they? They seem to slip in and out of worlds we can’t see, perched between playfulness and ancient wisdom, always just a little out of reach.

Creating Mystics feels like trying to capture that elusive cat spirit. With each design, I want to honor the unique markings and character of different breeds—their sleek elegance, wild independence, and those dramatic glances that say “I know things you don’t.” Unlike the loyal, lovable energy that went into our Icons dog collection, Mystics is about the creatures who seem to wander through life with a bit of hidden magic.

It’s funny how much character is wrapped up in a cat’s coat—each stripe, spot, and swirl a mark of individuality. I want this collection to feel like a tribute to that individuality, a bit of wearable magic that reminds us of the mystery these animals bring into our lives. Designing each piece feels a bit like casting a spell; I’m here, surrounded by sketches and swatches, hoping that some small part of that otherworldly energy transfers into the fabric.

So here’s to Mystics: a collection inspired by the creatures who make life a little stranger, a little wilder, and endlessly more enchanting. If all goes well, each piece will carry a touch of that timeless feline spirit.
