Day 33 — Connection

Post-Holiday Check-In

The Monday-after math is blunt: eight times more spent than earned. The ads go on pause, and affiliate partnerships get the next turn.

It's the Monday after Thanksgiving, and the reality check is here: holiday sales didn't match expectations. The math is blunt. A good return on ad spend is supposed to be eight times what you put in; I've been running it in reverse — spending eight times what came back.

So the ads are paused. Not trimmed — paused. The holiday ad push doesn't survive its own math.

The next experiment is affiliate marketing: working with creators and partners who genuinely like what I make, and who earn when it sells — instead of pouring a fixed budget into the ad black hole and hoping. It's slower. It also depends entirely on the products deserving the endorsement, which is the kind of dependency I don't mind building on.

There's a version of this entry that dresses the pause up as a strategy deck. The honest version is simpler. The numbers said stop, and I listened.
