Day 42: Progress Isn’t Always Perfect
Share
Hi friends,
It’s been a few days since my last update. I came down with something and had to take a step back to rest and heal. It wasn’t easy for me to press pause—there’s always so much to do—but it reminded me how important it is to honor the ebb and flow of life.
Now that I’m feeling better, I’m easing back into the work. Here’s where things stand:
Tiny Wins: A New App
This week, I added a feedback and referrals app to the site! It’s a small thing, but it feels like a meaningful step. Now, you can earn $10 in store credit for every successful referral purchase—and your friends get $10, too. It’s still a work in progress (what isn’t?), but I’m excited to see how it helps us grow together.
The Imperfect Path to “Perfect”
Lately, I’ve been struggling with the site’s layouts. My dream is to design everything from scratch—a blank canvas in Figma, fully customized and exactly as I envision. But right now, I think the best move is to use a Shopify page builder app. It’s not my ideal, but it’s practical, and sometimes the best choice is the one that moves you forward without breaking things.
Lessons in Patience
One of the biggest realizations I’ve had recently is this: success doesn’t happen overnight. That might seem obvious, but when you’re pouring everything into something you love, it’s hard not to want instant results. I’m learning to trust the slow, steady climb.
That said, I’ve also had to face some financial realities. This journey will take time, and I may need to take on a full-time job or a contract gig to keep the wheels turning. If you’re reading this and need design help, let’s connect—I’d love to work with you. You can find me on LinkedIn.
Thank you for being here, for cheering me on, and for reminding me that progress isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up, learning, and finding joy in the process.
Warmly,
Catherine
