Airedale Terrier
Often called the "King of Terriers," the Airedale is dignified and versatile, with an adventurous streak a mile wide. With their wiry coat and sharp gaze, they look like they belong in a detective novel. This pup is as happy chasing a tennis ball as they are lounging like royalty on the sofa.

Meet the Airedale Terrier
Mid-nineteenth-century Yorkshire: mill workers along the River Aire crossed their terriers with the Otterhound, after a dog game enough for rats and big enough for otters. The result outgrew every other terrier and most other job descriptions — police work in Britain and Germany, messenger duty under fire in the First World War. The AKC recognized the breed in 1888.
