Anatolian Shepherd Dog
To a kid, the Anatolian is a calm the size of the doorway, and always between them and the weather. For a member of the flock: brushed-soft midweight fleece, a double-lined hood for real warmth, a roomy kangaroo pocket, and a preshrunk knit that resists pilling.
Materials
A medium-weight 8.0 oz 50/50 cotton-poly blend — ultra-soft, preshrunk fleece that’s cozy against the skin. A spacious kangaroo pocket keeps hands warm, and a twill-taped neck holds its shape. Regular fit, runs true to size; sizes S–XL.
Care
- Machine wash: warm (max 40C or 105F)
- Bleach as needed
- Tumble dry: medium heat
- Do not iron
- Do not dry clean

Meet the Anatolian Shepherd Dog
For thousands of years on the Anatolian plateau, Turkish shepherds trusted their flocks to the çoban köpeği — the shepherd’s dog — guardians bred to be born among the sheep, live as one of them, and answer wolves without waiting for instructions. The AKC recognized the breed in 1996 — in the Working Group, naturally.
