Small, white, and covered in silky fur, the Maltese is a classic lap dog with a lot of love to give. Known for their gentle, affectionate nature, they’re wonderful with families and seniors alike. Despite their delicate appearance, they’re playful and bring endless joy to those lucky enough to know them.
Materials
A lightweight 4.2 oz 100% Airlume combed, ring-spun cotton jersey — finely knit, smooth, and gentle on small skin. Side seams give it a proper shape, and a tear-away label keeps it comfortable. Solid colors are 100% cotton; sizes 2T–5T.
Care
- Machine wash: cold (max 30C or 90F)
- Do not bleach
- Tumble dry: low heat
- Iron, steam or dry: low heat
- Do not dry clean

Meet the Maltese
The breed is named for the Mediterranean island whose harbors moved silk, spice, and — ancient writers suggest — very small white dogs around the classical world. Ships carried them everywhere; laps received them. Through empires, courts, and show benches, the assignment never changed: companion, full stop. The Maltese was among the AKC’s earliest breeds, registered from 1888, and has rarely left the ribbons since.
