An Akita keeps its post at home; some duties do not travel. The badge travels for it — a ring of red rays on nine ounces of two-ply cotton fleece, with a two-ply drawstring hood, a spacious kangaroo pocket, and the heritage Champion C on the sleeve. Quiet company, carried along.

Medium-heavy 9 oz fleece with Champion’s Double Dry™ warmth — a soft 50/50 cotton-poly blend with no side seams, up to 5% recycled polyester, an adjustable 2-ply hood, a kangaroo pocket, and the iconic C on the sleeve. Regular fit.

Meet the Akita
The Akita comes from the mountains of Akita Prefecture in northern Japan, where Matagi hunters used powerful dogs to track and hold bear, boar, and serow. The breed nearly vanished during the Second World War, then came to America with returning servicemen, whose enthusiasm built the American line. The AKC granted full recognition in 1972, in the Working Group.
