Akita people recognize each other without much conversation, which suits everyone involved. The badge speaks at the same volume — a ring of red rays on a boxy, slightly cropped cut of heavyweight ring-spun cotton, pigment-dyed to the quiet softness of something already loved.
Materials
Heavy 6.1 oz 100% ring-spun US cotton in an oversized, slightly cropped boxy cut. A seamless body and shoulder-to-shoulder twill tape hold its shape, while OEKO-TEX-certified pigment dyes give a soft, vintage hand that stays true. Sizes S–2XL.

Meet the Akita
The Akita comes from the mountains of Akita Prefecture in northern Japan, where Matagi hunters used powerful dogs to track and hold bear, boar, and serow. The breed nearly vanished during the Second World War, then came to America with returning servicemen, whose enthusiasm built the American line. The AKC granted full recognition in 1972, in the Working Group.
